operation christmas child

New Life has a team of volunteers who work year-round on gathering and organizing donations for Operation Christmas Child. In the fall, they host several shoebox-related events, and the whole church family, from the tallest to the smallest, is involved in packing gifts for children around the world.

2017 OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD EVENT SCHEDULE

  • Dates to Remember

Here are some exciting opportunities for you to come join us as we prepare shoeboxes this year for Operation Christmas Child.  We hope that you will be able to join us for one or both events!

    - Oct. 8th: OCC Craft Party:  We will be crafting the afternoon away making various items to include in shoeboxes.  Join us right after the 10:30 service to help us make gifts that children will treasure.

    - Nov. 5th: Join us for our annual OCC Packing Party!  Help us as we pack and pray over the shoeboxes that New Life Baptist will be donating this year.   Please also bring any shoeboxes that your family has prepared yourselves.  Our goal this year is 200 boxes, we can do it!

  • September Item: Games

The OCC suggested item of the month for September is games such as card games, puzzles, dominoes, wooden peg games, etc.

  • October Item: Letter & Photo

The OCC suggested item of the month for October is a photo of your family and a letter to the child who will receive your box.  You can find a coloring page on OCC's webpage to download and include with your picture.

  • General Needs

Following are some things we are collecting for our OCC church ministry:

    • Front cover of previously used Christmas with no writing front or back
    • Crocheters/Knitters - We are hoping to include prayer pockets in each shoebox this year.  If you have the time we can also use small baby blankets.
    • For the older boys and girls we would like to start collecting items for tackle boxes (fishing hooks, sinkers, bobbers, line, etc) and sewing kits (spools of thread, needles, pins, small scissors, measuring tape, safety pins, etc).
